Active Drug Information

The active constituent present in Tadarise is Tadalafil. Tadalafil is approved by the FDA in 2003 for treatment of erectile dysfunction. It is primarily used for treating erectile dysfunction. However, it can also be used to treat symptoms of benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH) and pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Tadalafil is available in doses of 2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg, and 20mg. The usually prescribed dose is 10mg. The dose can be increased or decreased depending on the degree of erectile dysfunction and overall health condition of the user.

Tadarise belongs to a class of PDE-5 inhibitors. This class of drugs works by inhibiting the PDE-5 enzyme present in abundance inside the penile region. Tadalafil is a potent PDE-5 inhibitor. It has the same mechanism of action as that of Sildenafil citrate and Vardenafil. However, it is structurally different from them.

Mechanism of Action

Tadarise, a Tadalafil based generic medication is a potent PDE-5 inhibitor. The PDE-5 enzyme is abundantly present inside the penile region. Tadalafil present in Tadarise inhibits the action of PDE-5 enzyme. This leads to elevated levels of an endogenous substance, cGMP inside the penile region. The elevated levels of cGMP can produce relaxation of smooth muscles and dilation of the vessels. The dilated blood vessels improve the amount of blood reaching the penile organ. The improved blood supply to the penile organ leads to firm and strong penile erection.

Tadalafil present in Tadarise is the longest acting PDE-5 inhibitor. It helps men to last longer in bed for about 36 hours.

Dosing Instructions

• Before taking Tadarise medication to read the instructions given on the prescription leaflet carefully. If you have any doubts or questions ask your pharmacist or physician.
• Tadarise must be taken only on demand
• Swallow the oral tablets of Tadarise as a whole with water
• Avoid chewing, crushing or breaking the oral tablets.
• These tablets must be taken at least 30 minutes before engaging in sexual intercourse.
• This medication can be taken with or without food.
• Do not repeat the dose of this medicine in 24 hours.

Storage and Disposal

• This prescription generic erectile dysfunction medication should be kept away from children.
• Keep these oral tablets in original packaging until you are using them.
• Store these almond-shaped yellow color pills at room temperature between 15 and 30°C.
• This medication should be kept in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
• Never flush the oral tablets of Tadarise down the toilet. The unused tablets should be disposed of as per local requirements.

Precautions and Warnings

• Before taking Tadarise medication, inform your doctor if you are suffering from any allergies as it contains some inactive components that may trigger an allergic reaction.
• If you have a history or are currently suffering from medical conditions such as heart attack, stroke, angina, diabetes, hypertension, kidney disorder or any other ailments, inform your physician.
• Tadarise medication is likely to make you drowsy, so avoid indulging in activities such as driving or operating machinery while taking these oral tablets.

Drug Interactions

• Alpha-blockers for prostate enlargement – Doxazosin, tamsulosin
• Medicines used to treat chest pain or angina– nitrates, isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate, or nitroglycerin
• Antihypertensive medicines – Amlodipine
• Antifungals – itraconazole or ketoconazole
• Antacids- Cimetidine
• Anti-epileptic medications- carbamazepine, phenytoin, and phenobarbital.

Contraindications

• Kidney disease
• Obstructive lungs disease
• Priapism
• Hypersensitivity reactions

Common Side Effects

• Giddiness
• Flushing
